Somnus is built with privacy at its core:

• No account creation required
• No email, name, phone number, or address collected
• No location tracking
• No microphone or camera access
• No advertisements
• No cross-app tracking

You can use Somnus completely anonymously.

To improve the app and provide adaptive soundscapes, we collect anonymous usage data:

App Usage Events:
• When you start a sleep session
• When you complete a sleep session
• Session duration
• Your mood selection before sleep
• Simple feedback after waking (good / okay / poor)

Technical Information:
• App version and platform (iOS)
• Anonymous local identifier (generated on your device)
• Crash reports and performance data

What We Don't Collect:
• We do not collect any personally identifiable information
• We do not track your location
• We do not access your microphone or camera
• We do not link your data to any other apps or services

The anonymous data we collect is used solely to:

• Adapt sound selection to your preferences
• Improve the app's performance and reliability
• Understand which features are most helpful
• Fix bugs and crashes

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We never use it for purposes other than improving Somnus.

Somnus uses the following third-party services:

Supabase:
We use Supabase as our backend database to store anonymous usage data. No personally identifiable information is sent to Supabase. All data is associated only with an anonymous device identifier.

RevenueCat:
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status for Somnus Premium. RevenueCat processes your App Store purchase information, but we do not have access to your payment details.

Apple:
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment information. We never see your credit card or payment details.

• Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption
• Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections
• We retain anonymous usage data for up to 2 years to analyze long-term trends
• You can request deletion of your data at any time (see User Rights below)

Because all data collected by Somnus is anonymous:

• Deleting the app removes your anonymous identifier and effectively deletes your data
• There is no personal data to export or request
• We cannot identify you from the data we collect

Somnus may send you optional notifications:

• Gentle reminders to wind down before bed
• Encouragement for sleep streaks

Notifications are:
• Completely optional
• Controlled through iOS Settings
• Never used for marketing or advertising
• Can be disabled at any time

For users in the European Union:

• We process data based on legitimate interest (improving the app)
• You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data
• You have the right to object to data processing
• You have the right to data portability
• You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because we collect only anonymous data, many of these rights are automatically satisfied by the app's design.

Somnus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used Somnus, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date

Continued use of Somnus after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
